Hi Newgrounds!!

Man have I dreamed of this day. I have a lot to say but in case you are busy here’s the TLDR:

• Gretel and Hansel is back! We are releasing a remake of Part 1 and Part 2 along with Part 3 as one single game in 2025
• The game will release on Steam first with console ports to follow in 2026.
• The game is built in Unity in a 2.5D style 
• The entire game, every asset, are watercolors painted by hand by DJKingDB and myself Makopudding, the original artists from Gretel and Hansel.
• The original music composer is back along with an incredible new composer we will introduce soon.
• Our Discord is live today! Please join if you are interested in following the process as we finish the game!

Now for some back story on why this has been fifteen years in the making. After releasing Part 2 in the fall of 2010 we were fully intent on making Part 3 and releasing on Newgrounds but various life events happened (as they do) which prevented us from releasing a Flash game in those years. Then Flash, a glorious, creative, quirky, beautiful part of the internet was killed. But I never stopped working on the game and never gave up the dream of finishing the series. I stopped posting because I was unable to provide an answer as to when the game would come out and in what form. That was a mistake and I apologize to all the fans who have reached out over the years looking for an update and not getting one. That ends now.  

We are back and will be posting regular updates including the process of making and completing the game. We are launching our Discord today and would love for anyone interested to come join and become part of the community. I will be live streaming there on a weekly basis while I work on the game. I will also post regular updates here on Newgrounds since this is the community that embraced the games and one I love so much. Big thanks to Tom Fulp for featuring them in the first place and being such an incredible human being.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the fans that never gave up on the game. As I’ve worked on it hour after hour, month after month, year after year, you have kept me going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I promise you all this will be the true Gretel and Hansel, and I hope it brings joy, laughs, and a grand adventure.
